Wheel of Descent
In the dimly lit room of an old mansion, a group of friends gathered around an antique wooden wheel adorned with cryptic symbols. They laughed and joked as they spun the wheel, each taking their turn to play the game.
"I'd like to solve the puzzle," Sarah said, her voice echoing in the silence that followed.
As the wheel came to a stop, the air grew heavy, thick with an ominous presence. Sarah's smile faltered as she glanced at the pattern etched onto the surface of the wheel. It resembled a summoning circle, its intricate lines pulsing with an otherworldly energy.
Before anyone could react, Sarah felt a strange compulsion take hold of her, as if an unseen force guided her words.
"I summon thee," she whispered, her voice trembling with uncertainty.
A chill swept through the room, and a sense of dread settled over the group like a suffocating shroud. The air crackled with dark power as the summoning circle began to glow with an unholy light.
Panic seized Sarah as she realized the gravity of her mistake. She had unwittingly spoken the incantation to summon a demon, unleashing a force beyond comprehension.
Suddenly, the room was plunged into darkness, the air thick with the stench of sulfur. Whispers echoed from the shadows, twisted and malevolent, as a figure materialized in the center of the summoning circle.
It was a creature of nightmares, with horns curling from its grotesque visage and eyes that burned with an infernal fire. Its laughter echoed through the room, sending shivers down the spines of those who dared to gaze upon it.
With a voice like gravel, the demon spoke, its words dripping with malice and cruelty.
"You have summoned me," it hissed, its gaze fixing on Sarah with unnerving intensity. "Now, you must pay the price."
Terror gripped the group as they realized the true horror of their situation. They had unleashed a force beyond their control, and now they would face the consequences of their folly.
As the demon advanced, its twisted form wreathed in shadow, they knew that their lives would never be the same again. They had opened a door to the abyss, and now they would be dragged into its depths, never to return.
